Jon Verwoest was infatuated by nature and birds in particular at a very young age, and obsessed with trying to express his passion. Those first artistic endeavors, though rudimentary, served as a prophetical genesis for Jon’s creative future. Later in life, whether his time was spent helping to feed the world as a commercial fisherman, or passing time in a duck blind, all his outdoor experiences inspired and developed his artistic prowess. Today that skill is displayed in his precisely executed sculptures of glass and bronze. The fluidity and spotless anatomy of his bronzes are second to none. And the technical processes necessary to produce the vacuum cast glass sculptures leaves Jon’s glass work unique to him alone.
