Don is a waterfowl and wildlife
artist who combines an excellent knowledge of his subject material
with the ability to transfer that knowledge onto canvas. The results
are beautiful artistic renditions of birds and animals in their most
colorful and profound settings.
His interest in waterfowl developed early from hunting experiences in the Klamath Basin. Injuries sustained in Vietnam worked in a unique way to initiate his painting career. A return to the high desert and lake country around Klamath led to an intense desire to paint the splendor of eastern Oregon in a way harmonious with its wildlife.
Painting has provided an excellent media for expressing Don's free lifestyle, which is closely attuned to the outdoors. With his talent as a photographer along with a background in fish and wildlife management, these results are a joy to those who share the awareness and appreciation of our superb wildlife habitats.
